> AAA Promise High School Lesson Plan

Make the pledge to drive safely for two major high school events: prom and graduation through the AAA PROMise program.

Explain increased potential of injury when employing high risk behaviors while operating and occupying a vehicle (e.g., distracted driving, impaired driving, seat belt safety, and pedestrians).

Students will be able to identify and describe the dangers associated with distracted driving, impaired driving, improper seat belt use, and pedestrian risks.

  • When you’re driving a vehicle, what is your biggest distraction? How does it impact your driving ability?
  • Is there anyone in your group of friends you don’t feel safe riding with? What can you do to ensure both them and you make it to and from prom and graduation safely?

Request a Free Tool Kit for your school through the AAA PROMise website. Review the provided fact sheets with your students and have them sign the included banner pledging safe driving practices to hang at each event.

Have students bring in a “safe driving pledge” with both their own and their parent/guardian’s signature.
