Summarize actions to take to protect oneself against risks to injuries related to vehicles, bikes, and pedestrian etc.

  • Students will be able to identify best practices for occupant safety in public transportation, rideshare, and personal vehicles.
  • Students will be able to summarize actions to protect themselves from injuries related to vehicles, bikes, and pedestrian situations.
  • How do seat belt safety practices differ between personal vehicles, public transportation, and rideshare services?
  • What are some common risks pedestrians and cyclists face in traffic, and how can vehicle occupants help reduce these risks?
  • Why is it important to promote seat belt awareness among your peers, and how can the Rock the Belt activities help achieve this goal?

Have students complete two “Rock the Belt” campaign activities, such as the Quick-Click Challenge, “Chalk the Walk”, Seat Belt Selfie, Duct Tape Safety Belts/”Fasten Show”, or School Announcements.

Review students’ completion of two Rock the Belt activities to assess their understanding of key vehicle safety concepts and their ability to communicate this information effectively.
