> Ollie Otter Kindergarten Lesson Plan

Request an in-person presentation or set a date for a virtual option and receive an Ollie Otter School Kit at OllieOtter.org.

Place a Traffic Sign Poster on the wall of your classroom.

Identify common street/traffic signs and have students practice what they are instructing within the classroom.

Students will correctly identify and describe the function and appropriate action for four out of five common street and traffic signs (e.g., stop sign, pedestrian crossing, traffic light, yield sign, and school zone).

  • What kind of traffic signs did we see during the Ollie Otter (virtual/in person) presentation?
  • We learned different colors mean different things. What does orange mean if you see something orange, like a cone, road barrel, or sign along the road?

Have students color or draw and color an Ollie Otter Coloring Sheet to send as Ollie Mail. Provide a Traffic Sign Coloring Sheet for students to color to extend the lesson to all traffic signs.

Review the coloring sheets and ensure correct colors were used or accurate statements were made.
